The potential for significant revenue from doing business with, and for, the government is too often overlooked. Careful assessment of federal loan guarantee programs, new tax initiatives, and similar measures is required to spot emerging opportunities well in advance of the competition. Sometimes, it’s possible even to design a program so that it precisely fits a client’s business objectives, ideally suiting the client to do business with the government once a new program has begun. Sometimes clients are not prepared to make the investment in government risk management necessary to do business on a large scale, and we’ve advised clients when we see this as well.
