Our Mission

Federal Financial Analytics works to protect clients from the range of risks that result from poor anticipation and analysis of U.S. policy. Financial services firms are particularly vulnerable to risk from new laws and changed regulations. We ensure that strategic planning and risk management take full account of current and emerging risks.

Some current issues we are focusing on:

  • Operational risk capital requirements. The Basel Committee is working on new rules for capital ratios that may put some U.S. banks at a competitive disadvantage.

  • Reputation risk. The recent wave of corporate scandals has shown how costly it can be when the reputation of a financial institution is damaged.

  • GSE market hegemony. As Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac continue to grow geometrically, their hegemony of the mortgage market and the potential for systemic risk also grow.

  • Corporate governance. The sweeping reform of corporate government in this year’s Sarbanes-Oxley Act especially impacts financial services firms in ways they may not be prepared to manage.
